Riikka Perälä from the Y-Foundation presented the research findings of the Adapting project at FEANTSA’s annual research conference, which this year took place in Utrecht, the Netherlands.

The findings highlight the importance of the local context as a key factor shaping Housing First work—both enabling and constraining its implementation. This is an important point to keep in mind when developing and resourcing Housing First.
Alongside the core principles of Housing First, policymaking should also consider the opportunities and constraints of the local context, and how the model can be adapted without losing its essential principles.
